In FMCG – Food industry business its vital to ensure that the thorough research is done BEFORE getting the product into the country. Qatar comes under the GCC region and the rules are very strict especially importing any food items.

Strictly regulated body controlled by Minsitry of Public Health (MOPH) and well coordinated by the Ministry of Port and Customs in Qatar ensures all the rules are followed as per the guidelines.

MoPh not only regulates all the import of the food stuff into Qatar but also ensures stringent tests are conducted on each item that is brought into the country. They are the primary reason why all food ingredients and materials are tested before the items are released for distribution or consumption.

Ministry Pre-Approval

Qatar follows strict compliance for Food Safety and Standards. All food items MUST be Pre-Registered and pre-approval is required in accordance with the Highest Level of International Standards.

Both consumers and traders benefit from this and allows safe passage for all consignments. FNB-Brands is registered with the Moph and we ensure all items follow through all the compliances before it reaches the market.

The pre-approval mostly covers, technical conformity of all food shipments arriving into Qatar. This includes ingredients, technical specification, nutritional values, Label, shelf life, halal certification, special analyses, restricted items and certifications approved by regulatory authorities.

We provide this services to the Brands and Products that we intend to import into Qatar and seek pre-approval in order to avoid any complications at the port upon arrival.

Food Product Registration

Food Product Registration Process:
  • All food product coming into Qatar have to go through Food Registration Process through Ministry of Public Health (MoPh) portal. All Distributors and Licensed Importers are required to register their company and food products in this government electronic portal before the goods arrive into Qatar.
  • We provide this service to register food items. It requires precise technical data about each product in order to clear the goods from customs. Failure to do this may cause rejection or suspension of goods at the port. This causes too much losses to the Business and the release of these items are conditional.
  • We collaborate with the experts in the field to ensure all the information is presented to the Ministry as accurately and detailed as possible so that we can obtain approval.
